Keeping Your Account Secure
## Account Security Best Practices Your FANZA account may contain personal content, financial information, and private messages. Taking a few basic security precautions protects all of it. **Use a unique, strong password.** This is the single most important thing you can do. Don't use the same password you use for other websites. If any of those other sites get breached (and they do, regularly), attackers will try that same password on FANZA and other platforms. Use a password manager if you have trouble remembering unique passwords — most modern browsers have one built in. **Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).** This adds a second verification step when you log in. Even if someone steals your password, they still can't access your account without the code from your authenticator app. Set this up in **Settings → Security**. It takes two minutes and dramatically reduces your risk. **Verify your email.** A verified email address lets you reset your password if you ever get locked out. Without it, recovering your account is much more difficult. **Be careful with links in messages.** If someone sends you a link in a DM — even if they seem legitimate — be cautious. Phishing attacks often involve links that look like real login pages but are actually designed to steal your credentials. When in doubt, navigate to FANZA directly by typing the address in your browser rather than clicking a link. **Log out on shared devices.** If you're using FANZA on a computer that isn't yours (a library, a friend's laptop, a work computer), always log out when you're done. Closing the browser tab isn't enough — explicitly log out from the account menu. **What to do if you notice suspicious activity:** If you see transactions you didn't make, messages you didn't send, or settings that changed without your input, act immediately. Change your password, enable 2FA if you haven't already, and contact our support team.
