Changing Your Username

## Changing Your Username Your username is the unique identifier that forms part of your profile URL — for example, fanza.to/profile/yourusername. It's also how other users can search for and find you on the platform. To change it, go to **Dashboard → Settings** and find the username field. Type in your desired new username and the system will check in real-time whether it's available. If it is, save your changes and the update takes effect immediately. **Username rules:** - Must be unique — no two users can have the same username - Can only contain letters, numbers, and underscores (no spaces or special characters) - Is case-insensitive — "JohnDoe" and "johndoe" are treated as the same username **Things to consider before changing:** - Your old profile URL will stop working immediately. If anyone has bookmarked your profile or shared a link to it, that link will break. - If you've shared your profile link on other social media platforms, you'll need to update it everywhere. - There's no way to "reserve" your old username — once you change it, someone else could take it. For creators especially, think of your username as part of your brand. Pick something memorable, easy to spell, and relevant to your content. If you're happy with your current username, there's no reason to change it.
