Private vs Public Profiles
## Choosing Between a Private and Public Profile This setting has a significant impact on how people discover and interact with your content, so it's worth understanding the tradeoffs. **Public Profile (the default):** Any logged-in FANZA user can visit your profile and see: - Your display name, username, bio, and profile/cover photos - Your follower and subscriber counts - Your free posts in full - Subscriber-only posts shown as locked previews (blurred media with a subscribe prompt) This is the recommended setting for most creators because it lets potential subscribers browse your free content and get a feel for your style before committing. It's basically your storefront — people can window-shop before buying. **Private Profile:** Only users who already follow you or subscribe to you can see your profile content. Everyone else sees a basic card with just your name and avatar, along with a Follow button. They need to follow you first, and only then can they see your posts and bio. This setting is useful for: - Creators who want to maintain exclusivity or a sense of mystery - Users who simply don't want their profile browsable by strangers - Creators with a pre-existing audience from another platform who don't need organic FANZA discovery The tradeoff is significant for creators: with a private profile, casual browsers can't preview your content, which typically results in fewer new subscribers since people are hesitant to pay for something they can't see at all. **To change this setting:** Go to **Dashboard → Settings → Privacy** and toggle **Private Profile** on or off. The change takes effect immediately.
