Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication
## Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Two-factor authentication adds a second layer of security to your account. Even if someone somehow gets your password, they still can't log in without access to your authenticator app. **How to set it up:** 1. Go to **Dashboard → Settings → Security** 2. Click **Enable Two-Factor Authentication** 3. You'll see a QR code on screen. Open your authenticator app — we recommend Google Authenticator or Authy, both free — and scan the QR code to add FANZA. 4. Your authenticator app will start generating 6-digit codes that change every 30 seconds. Enter the current code into FANZA to confirm the setup. 5. You'll be given a set of backup codes. **Save these somewhere safe** — write them down on paper, store them in a password manager, or keep them in a secure note. These are your only way back into your account if you lose access to your authenticator app. **What changes after enabling 2FA:** Every time you log in, after entering your password, you'll be prompted for a 6-digit code from your authenticator app. Open the app, find the FANZA entry, and type in whatever code is currently showing. The whole process adds about 5 seconds to your login. **If you lose your phone or authenticator app:** This is where those backup codes come in. Each backup code can be used once in place of your authenticator code. Use one to log in, then either set up 2FA again on your new device or disable it temporarily until you're sorted. If you've lost both your authenticator and your backup codes, contact our support team. We'll verify your identity through other means and help you regain access, though this process takes longer for security reasons.
